Career Fairs
In anticipation of and preparation for start of the construction phase of Plant Washington, Power4Georgians participated in Career Fairs held at
Sandersville Technical College on May 28, 2009 and at Heart of
Georgia Technical College on August 18, 2009.
The purpose of the fairs was to begin to inform, prepare and train a work force for the construction phase of the power plant. Over skilled 1,500 workers will be needed.
Representatives from Power4Georgians were on hand to provide descriptions of the various job categories and requirements as will as updates on the progress of the power plant. Visit
Employment Opportunities to learn more about the types and number of jobs that will be available during the construction phase.
Representatives from Sandersville Technical College and Heart of Georgia Technical College were available to discuss options on obtaining needed training and certifications for various job classifications, financial aid, as well as other career opportunities available at the technical college.
